The Google Plus Page is still fairly new in the business and social networking world. Some people view it as a ‘knock-off’ Facebook FanPage. Others view the Google Plus entity as a cross between Facebook and Twitter.
While it is great that you can have a Google Plus Page for your business, you can’t use it like a Facebook FanPage. With a Facebook FanPage, you can ‘like’ other fan pages. You can assume your fan page persona, and operate it like a personal profile. With the recent changes, your fans can contact you directly via private message. You can’t do all that with the Google Plus Business page – which presents the challenge of getting better visibility for your page. These are some tips to help you overcome that!

Display your Google Plus Badge on your website
If you have a blog or website, add the Google+ badge to your site – right next to Facebook and Twitter. The thing you have to realize is that even though the Google Plus community is small and new, it’s growing. Wouldn’t it make sense to gain your following as it’s coming, rather than trying to get one when everybody is already there? By displaying the Google+ badge, you are inviting your visitor to add your Google Plus page to their circle!
Ask your visitors to add your Google Plus Page
If you’re an email marketer – which if you’re on the internet, you need to be marketing via email – ask your new leads to add you in your follow up emails. Add a clickable link to your email, and make it easy for your visitor to connect with you. The only way you’re going to become a part of their Google Plus Circle is if they add you. If you don’t ask them, how will they know?
Tell your existing network about your Google Plus Page
Yes, yes, yes… start with people you know! Well, who else would you tell first? When you create your Google Plus Page for your business, you are given the option to share it with your Google+ network. DO IT! Also, ask them to share with their circles!
Add great content to your Google Plus Page
When you’re signed into Google and perform a google search for a particular topic, all of your friends who have provided content on the subject will come up in the search. Not only that, Google gives preference to its Google+ community. Hmmm… wouldn’t it make sense to get friendly with #1 search engine in the world?? You bet! By adding valuable content to your site, you only enhance your search engine optimization and the probability that your content will be found!
Start using the features of Google+
Google+ has all these neat features, but are you really using them?! The coolest feature is the ‘hangout’ feature. You can connect with your audience live. Exactly how cool is it? Imagine this: If you’re a business owner launching a new product, wouldn’t it be great to share the product with your VIP customers first? They will be able to see you and hear your passion. You could get questions and feedback immediately. Can you see how this will only enhance your business? Having your network essentially congregate on your Google Plus Page!
